Review
Awesome Psych album
White Hills’ 2007 debut album Glitter Glamour Atrocity is widely reviewed as a highly political, heavy psychedelic rock masterpiece that remains relevant years after its release. Critics highlight its post-9/11 themes, utilizing edited George W. Bush speeches to critique the Bush administration and the War on Terror.
The album is characterized by its dynamic range, balancing hypnotic, meditative drone and ambient passages with relentless, fuzzed-out psych-rock and krautrock-inspired rhythms. Tracks like "Under Skin or By Name" and the 14-minute title track are frequently cited as highlights for their intense, apocalyptic soundscapes and cleverly manipulated political samples.
